My partner would like this open source software for her work as a writer. Possible? If so, how to?
It says you need the latent version of GNU Linux to rum it....

Run these commands in a terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/audacity
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install audacity
This will install Audacity 2.1.2
Just used this ppa to upgrade my older version of Audacity downloaded from the Ubuntu repositories no problems
