I'm thinking about picking up a Simrad 3G radar. It uses a MFD for its control head. Is there a way use Navigatrix or a Linux program to control the radar? The radar supports an app for wireless control but says it has to be used with the MFD. Thanks, Tim |

What's a MFD?(yeah, I understand Multi Function Display); how does it work?; what do you expect it to do? What does Simrad say it will do? How does it connect to the computer? etc.. etc... |

And how does the Simrad Radar connect to the Display and in which format does it send data from the Simrad to the Display ? If it sends NMEA data you may connect it over a serial port to the Navigatrix and then use OpenCPN as a display. |
