There we are again,

after quite a while a found a way to download NX05. Not to easy in oZZ to download a 2 G file......
Anyway, I installed in on a stick but it doesn't start. All of a sudden, never happened before, it has a PAE or POE problem. Again like before, same problem on the Toughbook and on the Windows side of our Intel Mac.
I'd like to do a checksum test but I'm lacking the necessary programming skills to get there.
I was hoping my USB Serial coverter problems would be soved with the new sysrem, but I can't get it running in the first place.
Anybody ran into the same set of problems and found the magic?

Cheers,

Atmo

Hello, Atmo!

To check the checsum of your iso:
Manta menu-Accessories and start File Copier
Find the downloaded file on the directory where you saved it, and highlight it with INS key
Then go to File menu on the top left corner of window, and select Calculate Checksum
You have to select the type of checksum, which is MD5.
The files checksum will be generated in the file specified in the window.
Now you can open the file by right-clicking on it, and Selecting the view function.
Compare this with the checksum posted on NX webpage to verify integrity of the file.

Thanx, done ...It' probably not right I tried to copy it into a folder, but ot let me only use it as a folder name. Couldn't past it inside. Funny.
Hm, have to type it by hand then...: 65bf843b48c8b39ad589649fbd9d0e4b is what I got.
The file is only readable by Linux, so I had to copy by hand and checked twice.
Does that mean I have to download again?

Thanks,

Atmo

Yeah, the current checksum is MD5: fc2e1f867d0c98a157074292d9ce04ed

Something is messed up and it needs to be re-downloaded.

There is a way to use the torrent to re-check and downlaod the buggered segments, but that would be something you'd have to figure out with your torrent software and a good search engine to walk you through.

Another method of checking the integrity of a LiveCD (stick) installation of Navigatrix is to:
  • Hit a key at boot
  • Select other options
  • Select checksum test
