I am waiting for my Pactor to arrive and thought I would try hooking up my Icom 706 ham Radio at home to get experience before connecting my Nx computer on the boat to my Icom M710. I have two cables one has a USB and two audio jacks and that goes to the 13 pin ACC socket, the other is USB to jack and controls the radio over CI-V. As I understand it the main point of the first one is to toggle the RTS line of the serial which is connected to the press to talk on the ACC plug.

My intention was to try PSK mail, flgdigi etc. The CI-V USB came up as ttyUSB0 and the ACC one ans ttyUSB1.

The problem is as soon as I plug in the ACC the transeiver goes in to transmit mode and I cant find any way to stop it. The cable works ok using HRD on Windows

I have a 13 pin DIN so I was thinking of using the old style com port (this is a desktop computer at home)

I am running Nx 0.5

Thanks for any suggestions.
