Hi Guys,

New to the Linux/Lubuntu world and digging it. Very impressed by what I am seeing. Looking forward to dumping Windows for good.

Gnumeric is a little tough for some of my spreadsheet work - ships logs, maintenance, parts, etc. I maintain onboard. Is installing Libreoffice an OK thing to do? I notice it is not part of the load or Lubuntu Software Center.

If it is OK, what is the best way to install? Go through Ubuntu Software Center?

Thanks for all your help.

Best way is a loaded question.
Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install libreoffice
would be one way.

Sometimes I prefer the Package Manager (Menu> Preferences> Package Manger) as it's easier to get the proper spelling on package names. If it has been a while since the Package Manager was used, Reload, to update the list of available software.

The Ubuntu Software Manager works as well, and is perfectly acceptable to use, but tends to give less feedback as to what is going on in the background.

It's your decision.

Thanks for your patience with a newbie, Moe!

Done. Easy Peasy. Wanted to make sure I wouldn´t break anything with the other programs.
