Unfortunatly I have deleted my port installation for the GPS in OpenCpn and now I am not able to get it back installed. The GPS reading is Ok with xgps, no problem. Thw port inb xgps is /dev/ttyUSB3. But if I try to insatll the port for OpenCpn it is not working. That is sad and I dont know what to do to get the GPS back to work.

OpenCPN picks up the gps data from the gps daemon (gpsd).
xgps is also picking up the data from the gpsd. It reports the location of the gps because it is actually echoing the information from the gpsd.
You can restore the OpenCPN settings by goint to Option> Connections> Add Connection> Network> GPSD.
The 'Address' is localhost The 'DataPort' should remain at the default 2947 if you want it to work.
Ok your way out.
